Our Sustainable Ethos.

Outdoor Sanctuaries are built from the planet for people who care about the planet.

Outdoor-Sanctuaries-Thermal-Fabric-Lighting

Thermal Fabric & Lighting.

Our sanctuaries adopt fabric first principles by providing high levels of insulation that keep vacationers comfortable.

The shell of the sanctuary is constructed from SIPS (Structurally Insulated Panels) with high-performance double-glazed windows and doors with airtight seals.

Lighting to the pods comes with dedicated low energy lighting LEDs for low maintenance and help towards reducing energy use.

Outdoor-Sanctuaries-Sustainable-Timber

Sustainable Timber.

Sustainably sourced timber construction and organically weathering cladding materials are in harmony with natural surroundings.

The treehouses are built with high-tech low-waste manufacturing processes to create simple, honest, beautifully designed low footprint enclosures.

To stay here is to live for a spell within the slow rhythms of the days and seasons.

Various components of the modular system underlying the structure of the pods can be combined according specific locations, climates, surroundings and occupancies.

Deep Green.

‘The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.’ - Aristotle

This is a truism of our sustainable sanctuaries. For those wanting to go deep green, targeting zero-carbon both in use and production, our sanctuaries can be enhanced by making them work together in communities and adopting holistic energy, landscape, transport and sanitation strategies.

  • Outdoor-Sanctuaries-Passive-Ventilation

    Passive Ventilation.

Passive ventilation removes warm, humid indoor air and replaces it with fresher outdoor air. This type of ventilation requires less energy compared to mechanical ventilation.

  • Outdoor-Sanctuaries-Small-Carbon-Footprint

    Small Carbon Footprint.

By lowering your carbon footprint, you can help contribute to the overall reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, which slows down the effects of climate change.

  • Outdoor-Sanctuaries-Natural-Tree-Shading

    Natural Tree Shading.

Tree-shade alters building cooling loads by preventing incident solar radiation on the building, creating of resilient natural systems thus alleviating need for mechanical cooling that is energy intensive.

  • Outdoor-Sanctuaries-Prefabricated

    Prefabricated.

Modular construction is often commended for energy efficiency and sustainable construction. Traditional construction methods require extra materials that lead to increased waste. However, since prefabricated sub-assemblies are constructed in a factory, extra materials can be recycled in-house.

  • Outdoor-Sanctuaries-Sustainably-Sourced-Timber

    Sustainably Sourced Timber.

The timber we use has been harvested responsibly. This necessitates that when one tree is cut down to be used, another is planted to replace it.

  • Outdoor-Sanctuaries-Daylight

    Daylight.

Daylighting helps create a visually stimulating and productive environment for building occupants, while reducing as much as one-third of total building energy costs.
